What is Speech and Language Therapy?

Paediatric speech and language therapy  provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children with speech, language, communication, feeding and swallowing difficulties.

Our team can offer the following:

  • Assess your child’s communication skills to identify specific areas of difficulty, and provide strategies to support improvements in communication.

  • Work directly with your child dependent on their needs, as well as work with your family or carers to jointly identify how best we can help your child to communicate to their full potential.

  • Support parents and school staff and help them to adapt how they give information or communicate with your child to make language simpler to understand.

  • Assess eating/drinking skills and give advice to support these skills and improve safe feeding/drinking.

At Therapy4Kids we treat children with a range of different conditions and disabilities, using a number of different approaches best suited to your child.

We have a team of Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists who provide a comprehensive initial assessment and reports to identify areas of concern. Following this, they can provide individual therapy to work on your child’s personalised goals. Therapeutic input also includes parent and educational consultation during therapy sessions. We offer assessment and treatment in our well-resourced practice, in your home or at school for children ages 0 – 18 years.
